Hobo Con, aka the National Hobo Convention, is an annual convention held during the second weekend in August in the town of Britt, Iowa, by the Tourist Union No. 63 (the national union of hoboes), and the Britt Hobo Days Association. This convention promotes and preserves the history of hobo culture, serves as a gathering place for hoboes, and hosts the annual election of Hobo royalty. Other regional Hobo Cons are also held as well throughout the United States. Meet a longtime attendee and staff member of Hobo Con as they talk about the annual celebration known as Hobo Con and related hobo culture and describe the similarities between hoboes and anime fans, alongside video recordings of stories about Hobo Con from various hoboes.
